I completed my undergraduate education while working as a Paramedic at the University at Albany, State University of New York in 1996 with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Biology and Physical Anthropology Magna Cum Laude. Immediately upon graduation I entered military service and started flight school with the United States Army. After just shy of 8 years of active duty serving as an AH-64A Apache Attack Helicopter Instructor Pilot and Tactical Operations Officer, I made my transition back to medicine entering the Weil Cornell Medical School's Physician Assistant (PA) Program and graduated in 2006. Since graduation, I have specialized in Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Critical Care. In May of 2011, my family and I moved to Rochester, NY and joined the University of Rochester Medical Center, and where we remain active members of our Penfield community.

I remain in service to my country as a deploying PA for the National Disaster Medical System with the US Department of Health and Human Services since 2008 and have deployed to numerous national disasters, national special security events, as well as numerous COVID-19 missions.

I have been happily married 23 years to my wife Terri and we are raising 3 beautiful teenaged daughters. Additionally, I am a 2 time Ironman competitor and member / amateur astrophotographer with the Rochester Academy of Science.
