In more than 6,000 patient visits a year, individuals and families are able to assess their vulnerabilities, find their strengths, and learn how to live more full in the context of their relationships.
Family Therapy Services treat individuals and families across the lifespan who are suffering from a wide variety of issues, including depression and anxiety, or other mental illness. They have additional expertise in the areas of:
- Medical conditions - adjusting to life with new or chronic medical concerns
- Parenting concerns
- Divorce and custody conflicts
- Family care-giving
- Grief and loss
- Partner violence
Family Therapy Services operate on the principle that the individuals who come to them for treatment are embedded in relational systems that affect their overall health and wellbeing. Therapists treat individuals and their family members from a biopsychosocial perspective, which accounts for the interplay of physical health status and relational environment on a person's mental health and functioning. With consent, therapists regularly include whoever is most relevant in the situation of concern, including family members, physicians, school personnel, clergy, and other important persons in a patient's care. In addition, clinicians work closely with other specialty servcies withing Strong Behavioral Health for concerns related to addictions or serious and persistent mental illness.
Strong Family Therapy Services has available appointments in the daytime or evening hours.
