Research Overview

The Coppage laboratory has both clinical and basic science arms. Clinically the laboratory studies the antibodies involved in antibody mediated rejection, using qualitative and semiquantitative analyses. The basic science arm is an interest in the phenomenon of accommodation to antibody by endothelium in the transplant setting. The lab collaborates with the laboratories of Martin Zand and Majed Refaai.

Dr. Coppage also actively collaborates with Dr. Jane Liesveld, clinical director of a blood and stem cell transplant program. Their interests include study of the bone marrow niche in hematological malignancies. This includes the culture, identification and manipulation of cellular components of the marrow niche (stromal cells, endothelial cells, mesenchymal and hematopoitic stem cells).
