About Me
Dr. Kostarellis is interested in general family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, breastfeeding promotion and assistance, integrative medicine/lifestyle medicine, palliative/hospice care, and health care advocacy.
She has an interest in outpatient procedures, such as IUD placement, Nexplanon placement, skin biopsies, joint injections, and wart removals.
She realizes the importance of family dynamics in a patient’s overall health and will take the time to understand the interpersonal relationships that affect her patients. Dr. Kostarellis wishes to grow with her patients as they navigate the ever-changing path of life.
Dr. Kostarellis completed medical school at Upstate Medical University where she was a Rural Medicine Scholar and completed 10 months of rotations in Batavia, NY. There, she solidified her decision to pursue a career in family medicine, while staying local to complete her residency at the University of Rochester and serving as a fourth year chief resident. She received the residency director award for Political Advocacy and Leadership and hopes to continue advocating for health care in her future career.

Zoe Kostarellis, MD. When my primary physician retired ( Lisa Smith) I was devastated. I thought there could never be a replacement for her and the wonderful way in which she treated her patients. Dr. Kostarellis is outstanding! I feel lucky to have her as my doctor.Leaving there was a staff member I do not know her name but she seen me struggling with my breathing and walking. She coached me and had me sit and breath. I would have kept trying to walk but she really helped me rest and get my breathing under control to the reception. Bless her heart.I was thankful she persisted to help me.It makes a difference to rest when short of breath. It was late near closing but she said no worries we are here for you.

Dr. Kostarellis is a perfect example of what primary care should be. She is obviously intelligent and knowledgeable. But what sets her apart is that she treats you like someone you've know for years. Not only is she familiar with your medical record, but seems to be familiar with you as a person. When you're ill or have medical issues, that little extra makes a big difference.

Zoe Kostarellis and her nursing team. Any time I have a question or need to come in I feel like they genuinely care, they remember details about me beyond my health history and they are incredibly compassionate. I never feel judged or like I have to justify my life choices, I am always given enough time to have an appointment in full and to have my needs met and at the end of every appointment Dr. Kostarellis asks if there is anything I'd like to discuss or if we got to everything I wanted to cover that day. She sets appropriate follow ups and is an incredibly attentive doctor.

I do not feel like my health issues are being taken seriously. I feel like they pretend to listen & just ignore me. My health continues to deteriorate with very little assistance from my dr. My chart is NOT UPDATED. It still says an issue from a year ago is what I'm seeking help for which progressed into severe issues. The beginning issue is not the real reason for treatment any more. Why is my chart not updated?

This was my 1st time with the Dr. We moved from CA to NY. CA health care is so much better. My previous dr could call and if needed get right in. He always had 2 available openings. The medic bldg had all the doctors in one place including x-ray ultrasound and lab. It was really convenient. Its actually been a nightmare here trying to get apps or even making a phone call and waiting a very long time to get someone to pick up the phone. [...] Dr K was very efficient, kind, knowledgeable and personable. She was worth the waiting time.
