People from all walks of life suffer from foot pain.

Are you one of them?

Nearly 8 out of 10 Americans have experienced foot pain — and those who suffer from a chronic foot issue are significantly more likely to have pain in their knees, back, hips or other parts of their body.1

Foot discomfort can have a profound impact on quality of life, restricting activities such as walking, exercising or even just standing. For individuals with diabetes, foot pain can signal another health issue. Fortunately, there are many options available to alleviate foot pain and prevent future problems. A visit to UR Medicine Podiatry can help restore function and comfort, so you can always put your best foot forward.

Conditions We Treat

Heel and arch pain

We have expertise in treating all kinds of heel and arch pain — and offer an array of treatment options including anti-inflammatory medications, injections, stretching exercises, physical therapy, over-the-counter inserts, custom foot orthotics, night splints and surgery, if needed.

Nail and skin problems

We treat all types of toenail problems including thick nails caused by a fungus, ingrown infected nails and chronic ingrown nails, plus nail issues related to an injury or deformity. In addition, we treat skin conditions of the feet ranging from fungal infections, psoriasis, calluses and warts.

Foot pain

Foot pain is not normal and has many causes including arthritis, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, sprains, strains, bursitis, neuromas and other deformities. Whatever condition you may have, we can treat it surgically or non-surgically. We also offer MLS Laser therapy, the most advanced laser therapy system to effectively treat foot pain.

Foot deformities

We offer the most conservative treatments for bunions, hammer toes and tailor's bunions. If surgery is required, these deformities are easily corrected on an outpatient basis, keeping the patient as ambulatory as possible.

Diabetic foot care

Since early intervention and prevention are essential for proper care and treatment, we see diabetic patients on a routine basis. We provide nail care and treat pre-ulcerative calluses, as well as check and care for diabetic neuropathy and to ensure that circulation is stable. If any problems are found, we collaborate with both neurologists and vascular surgeons to develop the best treatment plan. We also assist diabetic patients with orthotics, diabetic shoes and insoles, if required.
