Research Interests
My research interests originate from the quantitative analysis of cellular systems. An example that motivated recent studies is oligodendrocytes (the myelin-forming cells of the central nervous system) and their progenitor cells cultured in vitro. Part of my work has been devoted to modeling the proliferation of cell populations using stochastic processes (such as branching processes). I am also involved in developing statistical methods to analyze data on cell kinetics generated by flow cytometry or clonal experiments. Simulation-based methods are of particular importance in this regard. Another area of interest is pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics modeling, and I am also currently involved in cancer-related collaborative studies.
