Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute Career Development
The UR CFAR has a close working relationship with the URMC CTSI that ensures efficient and synergistic use of resources to optimally meet the needs of HIV/AIDS researchers. HIV/AIDS faculty have CFAR supported access to CTSI Education and Career Development offerings and training such as:
- CTSI Seminar Series
- Faculty Development and Mentoring Workshops
- Comparative Effectiveness Research training
- Training opportunity for postdoctoral and clinical fellows, residents, and faculty. The program goal is to increase the number of researchers qualified to oversee or conduct Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER)
- Community-Engaged Research training
- Training program to educate investigators to:
- Engage more effectively with community organizations, agencies, and diverse population groups to identify research questions critical to the community and to improve methods to reflect community preferences
- Develop more effective strategies for recruitment and retention of participants in clinical studies and improve the dissemination of information from health promotion interventions and/or clinical trials to increase the community’s knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention.
- Training program to educate investigators to:
- FDA Investigational New Drug (IND) and Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) training
- Practical Skills in Grant writing course
