Our Clinical Services and Programs
The Division of Adolescent Medicine is dedicated to improving the health and well being of adolescents as they transition from childhood to adulthood. Using an interdisciplinary approach, we provide exemplary clinical care, based in the bio psychosocial model in which we integrate the medical, psychological, and social needs of patients and their families.
We work collaboratively with primary care physicians and specialists to ensure that adolescents receive comprehensive, state-of-the-art care. We provide care in outpatient clinics at Golisano Children’s Hospital and those linked with Threshold Center for Alternative Youth Services, school-based clinics, and the Anthony Jordan Teen Center. Inpatient services occur in the only dedicated pediatric adolescent unit in New York State north of New York City. Adolescent medicine consultations are provided to all inpatient units of the University of Rochester Medical Center.
We also provide diagnostic and treatment evaluations in our interdisciplinary training program for complex health problems experienced by teens and their families. This training program prepares future leaders in adolescent health.
