Donate Your Time: Volunteer
Donate Your Time: Volunteer
There are many ways to make a difference in the lives of children by volunteering your time. Your commitment is based on your individual availability, and we would love for you to get involved as frequently as your schedule allows.
Volunteer Through the Child Life Program
Pediatric volunteers play an important role in the healthcare experience of many children and families by sharing of their time and talents. A hospitalized child or teen can be fearful, anxious, and lonely. Friendly, caring volunteers help make this a more positive experience.
To learn more about volunteer opportunities, please visit the Friends of Strong volunteer information page or call (585) 275-2420.
Plan a Special Performance or Activity with Child Life
Special performances or activities from the community provide meaningful experiences for the patients and families of Golisano Children’s. Guidelines must be adhered to for all events in order to best respect our patients while enhancing the event experience for patients, families, and participating donors.
To request an application, please reach out to Child Life at CLSpecialEvents@urmc.rochester.edu, or leave a message with your email at (585) 275-9878, and we will send you the application information.
Volunteer at Fundraising Events
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting events throughout the year, including the annual Stroll for Strong Kids and 5K, gala, and a variety of community fundraisers. Opportunities may include greeting guests, assisting with registration, supporting event logistics, helping with set-up, and more! Whether you're working behind the scenes or engaging with attendees, volunteers can help create positive, memorable experiences that inspire generosity and strengthen support for the children and families we serve.
