Featured Supporters: William H. Eilinger Endows Chair of Pediatrics Professorship To endow a chair is to give an accomplished, respected faculty member the power to make a real and positive difference in the lives of children today and for generations to come. Endowments arm doctors with the resources they need to grow and to improve research, patient care and education. Golisano Children’s Hospital’s pediatrician-in-chief and the University of Rochester Medical Center’s chair of Pediatrics, Nina F. Schor, M.D., Ph.D., holds the William H. Eilinger Chair of Pediatrics. Thanks to the generous Eilinger gift, Schor has many opportunities to make Golisano Children’s Hospital an even better hospital for patients and their families. “The funds that comprise the William H. Eilinger Professorship will be used to further pediatric research and education at the discretion of the chair of the Department of Pediatrics,” said Schor. “They allow the chair to launch projects that are sufficiently new and innovative as to not yet be able to attract national-level funding. They can also enhance educational initiatives for students, trainees, faculty and staff that improve care for our patients and their families and attract the next generation of healthcare professionals to pediatrics.” Thanks to this professorship, Golisano Children’s Hospital has more resources to provide children in our community with the best care possible.
