Research Overview

The Department of Pediatrics has numerous research centers associated with it, which are highlighted on this page. Please visit the department's homepage for more information.

Center for Pediatric Biomedical Research

Research in the Center for Pediatric Biomedical Research has as its ultimate aim to improve children's health. There are two major research efforts ongoing in the Center. The first entails the study of stem and progenitor cell biology. The second major research effort entails the development of new technologies to investigate protein structure and function on a genomic scale.

Strong Children's Research Center

Most medical advances depend on the close collaboration of research scientists and clinicians. With over $22 million in grant money awarded to our department's Strong Children's Research Center, it is evident that our faculty contributes to children's health in ways that transcend even the outstanding patient care provided at the Golisano Children's Hospital.

AAP Julius B. Richmond Center of Excellence for Children

The AAP Julius B. Richmond Center of Excellence for Children is a research institute of the American Academy of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY.
