Pediatric Resident Research Track
The Research Pathway
There are many opportunities for research training and development. We will work with you to match your individual needs, skills, interests and accomplishments to a project.
First year residents who have an interest in exploring research should initially discuss the option with Dr. William Varade, Residency Program Director.
General Program Structure
Dr. Frank Gigliotti, Associate Chair for Academic Affairs, will meet and provide first year residents with individual guidance regarding:
- Selecting a mentor either from the Pediatric faculty or from another department where appropriate
The goal is for the resident to present and publish data in national fora. Residents will also present their projects at the Annual Trainees Research Grand Rounds.
8 Weeks of Elective Time
This elective will allow resident to do:
- Background reading
- Topic review
- Project planning and implementation
