Program Overview - What Makes us Unique?

The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery offers two resident positions per year in an Integrated general surgery/plastic surgery program.

The educational goals for our residents include a comprehensive and balanced plastic surgical education based on these six "core competencies":

  1. Patient care
  2. Medical knowledge
  3. Practice-based learning and improvement
  4. Interpersonal skills and communication
  5. Professionalism
  6. Systems-based practice

The first three years are designed to give you a solid foundation in the principles of surgery, as well as exposure to other disciplines.

This last 3 years of the program provides comprehensive surgical and educational experiences while working in community- and university-based clinical settings. The faculty maintains the strongest commitment to its residents and their educational advancement.

Program specifics—such as clinical practice, rotation schedule and training sites—can be found via the links above. Or you can contact the Program office.
