Epidemiology
Message from the Director of the Ph.D. program
Advances in disease prevention and health promotion in the 21st century required the knowledge and skills from a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines, in particular, those of epidemiology. Our doctoral program, initiated in 2002, prepares individuals for an academic career specifically focused on research and education in this public health concentration. Our program emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to community and population-based research that is founded on rigorous principles of risk assessment, research methodologies and analytic techniques.
Our students live, learn and grow in an academic environment that nurtures individuality, scientific inquiry, intellectual discussion, and personal development. Our well-trained graduates are recruited to contribute their expertise and insight to multidisciplinary investigations that span laboratory, clnical and public health initiatives. I welcome you to contact me for more information.
