Women’s imaging services are primarily provided at our Breast Care Center located at 500 Red Creek Drive, with some ancillary services offered at Strong Memorial Hospital. The center utilizes state of the art equipment and techniques utilizing digital mammography, conventional mammography, breast ultrasound, and a high field MRI with dedicated breast coil. Specialized diagnostic techniques include stereotactic and ultrasound guided core biopsies, fine needle aspirations, and wire localization procedures.
The Division of Women’s Imaging is actively engaged in medical student and resident education. Faculty members are involved in several research projects with an emphasis on breast MRI. The Division forms part of a multidisciplinary team which includes breast surgeons, pathologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, and plastic surgeons. This multi-faceted approach to women’s health facilitates our understanding of breast disease, improves patient care, and enhances resident training.
