Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center

Finger Lakes Geriatric Education Center of Upstate New York (FLGEC-UNY) is one of 50 centers currently supported by the Bureau of Health Professions, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. These centers are dedicated to strengthen the multidisciplinary training of health professionals working in the field of geriatrics.

The Finger Lakes GEC-UNY is committed to develop a community-wide response to improve the public health of the region's older adults through the education of its health and allied health practitioners and faculty. Our target area is the 37 counties in the Finger Lakes region and Upstate New York, anchored by the cities of Rochester, Ithaca and Utica. Counties supported include Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates.
