Research Opportunities
Important research studies are being conducted for patients seen at the Memory Care Program. These studies include new treatments for people with memory problems, dementia prevention, and observational research opportunities designed to understand the brain mechanisms in dementia and memory. Information about the current research opportunities is available from the staff in the Memory Care Program.
Drs. Anton Porsteinsson and Mark Mapstone with the URMC Memory Care Program discuss research currently underway that could lead to new ways to diagnose and treat Alzheimer's disease and other memory disorders.
The URMC Memory Care Program brings care and research together under one roof. Physicians with the programs explain why combining these two activities in a single program has the potential to find new ways to treat Alzheimer's and other memory disorders and improve the way we care for these patients and their families.
