Education & Training
The quality of our education sets us apart.....The University of Rochester is the first institution in the nation to be awarded six years full accreditation by the ACGME giving an A+ Rating, a direct reflection of the eminence of our fellowship and residency programs.
The Department of Pediatric Residency program has also been recognized by U.S. News and World Report and Pediatric Links to the Community (PLC) was founded here and now benchmarked nationally. PLC is a unique, national award-winning program aimed at inspiring and enabling health care professionals to participate in community-based partnerships, evidence-based programs and advocacy to improve the health of children and families.
The PLC Program received the Ambulatory Pediatric Association's Outstanding Teaching Award for the best pediatric educational program in the country. That same year, the Department of Pediatrics and PLC Program were one of six pediatric residency programs nationwide awarded a multi-million dollar grant from the Dyson Foundation to promote pediatric training in the community. Under the Dyson Initiative, a unique Child Advocacy Resident Education (CARE) Track was implemented to further develop partnerships with community-based organizations.
