Who We Are
Faculty and Staff
- Andy Aligne, MD, MPH is the Director of the CARE (Child Advocacy Resident Education) Track and Co-Director of the PLC Program at the University of Rochester. Dr. Aligne is also the Director of Pediathink, a health projects consulting firm. He is also a member of SHAC: the Smoking and Health Action Coalition of Monroe County.
- Jeff Kaczorowski, MD is a Co-Director of the PLC Program. Dr. Kaczorowski is also an Associate Professor in the Division of General Pediatrics at the University of Rochester. Dr. Kaczorowski is the National Director of the American Academy of Pediatrics Community Pediatrics Training Initiative.
- Laura Jean Shipley, MD is a Co-Director of the PLC Program. Dr. Shipley is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Rochester and a Primary Care Pediatrician at the Panorama Pediatric group.
- Danielle Thomas-Taylor, MD, MPH is the PLC Intern Training Director, Pediatric Attending at Rochester General Hosptial, Senior Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics and Medical Provider at the REACH Program.
- Sara Horstmann, MD is the CARE Track Assistant Director. Dr. Horstmann is also a Senior Instructor for Pediatric Critical Care.
- Susan K. Bezek, APRN, BC is the Assistant Director of the Sovie Center for Pediatrics at the Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong, and one of the Community Pediatrics Advisory Council Co-Chairs.
- Caren Gellin, MD, is the Coordinator and Specialist in Pediatric Simulation Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong and the Legislative Advocacy Trainer for the PLC Program.
- Marc Lavender, MD is the PLC Faculty Liaison and a Primary Care Physician at East Ridge Family Medicine (as of June 2009).
- David Adler, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine and PLC Faculty of the CARE Track.
- Theodore Brown, PhD is a History Professor at the Unviersity of Rochester and PLC Faculty of the CARE Track.
- Senior Chief Resident Assistants: Sandra Beirne, MD, Deepa Camenga, MD, Marc Lavender, MD, Carolina Marcus, MD and Kellin King, MD.
- Santina Tu is the PLC Program Manager
- Lisa Swetz is the PLC Program Secretary
