Critical Care Fellowship
Curriculum
Ours is a 3-year, fully accredited, training program designed to prepare the fellow to enter a career in academic Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Fellows are immediately immersed into the clinical program where they are given graduated levels of responsibility, fine-tuned to their specific level of training and experience. Formalized rotations are scheduled with anesthesia and pediatric cardiothoracic surgery.
Research
There is ample opportunity for the fellow to pursue individualized clinical and academic interests, with 18 months (half of the fellowship) allotted as research time. Fellows may participate in research within the division, or may choose to take advantage of the vast academic resources provided across the University.
Conferences
Weekly teaching conferences are designed to cover the entire spectrum of pediatric critical illness over the course of the fellowship. A formalized and mandatory curriculum has been developed for all departmental fellows. This lecture series addresses a variety of useful topics, including study design, statistics, and administrative considerations.
