Director

The goal of the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Rochester is to equip pediatricians with the skills, knowledge, and experience they need for a successful academic career in Neonatology. The Division has a long and distinguished history of educating Neonatologists who have gone on to become national and international leaders.

The Fellowship is a three-year ACGME-accredited program with, in general, two Fellows per year of training.

The program provides intensive training in the clinical care of high-risk newborns in a busy Level IIID NICU and a Level II Special Care Unit, serving a 13-county referral region. All aspects of clinical care, including ECMO, iNO, all needed subspecialists, pediatric surgeons (general, CT, urologic, ENT, etc) are available on site. The NICU at Golisano Children's Hospital serves all neonates in the Finger Lakes region of New York State who need intensive care. By active mentorship from faculty researchers, Fellows also gain experience in research study design, analysis, presentation and publication.

The faculty and staff provide training in a friendly and supportive environment with high standards for excellence in clinical care of families and their infants, in clinical and laboratory research, and in education of pediatric residents, medical students and the community.
