Clinical Training
The first year consists of a concentrated clinical experience with an introduction to formulating a research question and plan of action. By the end of the first year, it is expected that the trainee will have become proficient in the evaluation and management of children with kidney disease, performing percutaneous kidney biopsies, prescribing dialysis and continuous veno-veno hemofiltration, and evaluating and managing kidney transplant patients. During the first year, fellows manage patient care under the close supervision and guidance of faculty.
