Pre- and Postoperative Transplant Care
Fellows are an integral part of the medical and solid organ transplant surgical team that manages all transplant patients. As part of the transplant team, trainees are responsible for the pre-transplant evaluation of pediatric kidney transplant candidates, assessment of these patients immediately prior to transplantation to assure the absence of any newly developed complications or contraindications to transplant, and assist in the perioperative care of the patient.
