Dr. Shamlian's professional training is in the use of behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approaches with children with an autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and developmental disorders, & clinical presentations of common developmental concerns (e.g., toilet training, sleep, and parent-child interactions). His approach to working with families emphasizes the careful consideration of parent concerns and challenges as they try to help their child develop to their fullest potential. A major aim is to help families develop methods to interact with their child in ways that support healthy development, in addition to being feasible for the family to use.
