Match Day 2011

There was a feeling of anxious anticipation and excitement in the air on March 17, 2011 as our fourth-year medical students awaited the opening of the envelopes that would tell them where they would be spending the next years of their medical training.

Facts about the MD Class of 2011 Match

• 30 states, plus the District of Columbia, are represented on the match list
• 15% of the students will stay at the University of Rochester Medical Center for residency.
• 21 students will pursue Internal Medicine, the most popular specialty represented. Other popular specialties include General Surgery (9), Family Medicine (8), Emergency Medicine (7), and Obstetrics/Gynecology (7).
• The class submitted over 2400 applications and went on over 1000 interviews in 42 different states.
