About the St. James Foundation

The St. James Foundation (SJF) is the charitable arm of St. James Hospital and is charged with raising funds to support the hospital and a variety of related healthcare services to the benefit of the greater Hornell community. Our mission directs all we do:

The St. James Foundation strives to provide resources to benefit the St. James Hospital, establishing programs that encourage a strong tradition of charitable giving in order to sustain and increase health care services in the region we serve, now and into the future.

Since its establishment in 1999, the Foundation has raised over $2.0 million in charitable gifts from sources including the annual campaign, memorial contributions and bequests, and Foundation event support including St. James Foundation Golf Tournament, Spring Fling, Guest Bartender Series, and the February "Beat the Blues" Gala. A group of dedicated, local volunteers serves as the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Gifts to the Foundation provide support for the facilities, equipment, programs, and services that provide quality healthcare within our community. Donors may direct their gifts to a particular project or department or choose to direct their funds to the area of greatest need, as identified by hospital leadership.
