I-Corps@NCATS Short Course

The UR CTSI and Ain Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation are hosting an I-Corps@NCATS Regional Short Course, designed to provide biomedical scientists, clinician scientists, and engineers with a new approach to accelerating the translation of their discoveries from the lab to clinical practice.

Who should attend?
The I-Corps@NCATS Regional Short Course is meant for teams of faculty, postdocs, and students with biomedical innovations or ideas.

Why should I attend?
The free, virtual course will help you connect with potential customers for your research projects, protocol, service or prototype, and will help you:

  • determine the commercial viability of your innovation;
  • develop a successful business case for securing funding;
  • expand your network of innovation partners, mentors and potential collaborators;
  • develop a new way of thinking about how to value the impact of your research; and
  • leverage funding to support customer discovery for selected teams.

The I-Corps@NCATS program, which is supported by the National Center for Advancing Clinical and Translational Science, is based on the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps (I-Corps™) program, the premier federally-funded innovation and commercialization training in the U.S. Course graduates receive NSF lineage and can apply to other NSF grant awards, including the National I-Corps Team program, which carries a grant award up to $50,000. Previous NSF funding is not required to apply.
