Enhancing Circuit Performance in the Injured Spinal Cord
After spinal cord injury, a considerable amount of residual functioning tissue often remains. This has prompted efforts to improve function of these surviving elements of the spinal cord. I will discuss different approaches we have adopted to enhance the capacity of the surviving spinal cord. These include the use of neurotrophins as well as activity based neuroplasticity.
