Medical Contact Lens Services

Medical contact lenses are specialized devices prescribed by eye doctors when glasses or standard contact lenses cannot provide patients with adequate functional vision. They may also be used to relieve symptoms such as pain or dryness when the surface of the eye has been affected by injury or disease. We are a leading regional center for prescribing and fitting a variety of therapeutic contact lenses to treat a number of conditions:

  • Keratoconus- Keratoconus causes the cornea to thin and bulge into an irregular shape, leading to distorted and blurry vision. Medical contact lenses, such as scleral or rigid gas permeable lenses, can help restore clear, stable vision.
  • Severe Dry Eye- Occurs when eyes do not produce enough tears to stay lubricated, resulting in irritation and fluctuating vision. Medical lenses can provide continuous moisture and protect the eye’s surface, helping to improve comfort and vision.
  • Surgical complications- After refractive surgeries, corneal transplants, or cataract procedures, some patients may experience irregular corneal surfaces or scarring that affect vision. Custom medical contact lenses can help correct these irregularities.
