Welcome to the Wozniak? Lab
Bacterial corneal infection (bacterial keratitis) is a major contributor to vision loss throughout the world, resulting in nearly 2 million new cases of blindness annually. Yet, despite the prevalence of this disease and its significant morbidity, there is still much to learn regarding how bacteria successfully initiate, establish and maintain infection. Our lab takes both basic science and translational approaches to study the pathogenesis of bacterial keratitis and to develop novel antimicrobial therapies to treat this blinding disease.
