As a full-service Tertiary Care Facility, consultation services (such as GI, Infectious Disease, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Pulmonary) are available at all times.
BMT Nurse Coordinators
The BMT nurse coordinator works with the patient, physician, financial coordinator, social worker, and other teams, including the NMDP, to facilitate the coordination of seamless care throughout the phases of transplantation for the patient. In conjunction with the BMT attending physician, the nurse coordinator is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients throughout the continuum of care. In addition, the nurse coordinator facilitates the referral and testing process, conducts patient and staff education, and assists in arranging outpatient care leading up to and following transplant, including long-term follow-up as needed after the patient returns to the referring physician.
