About Golisano Children’s Hospital
GCH is an eight-story, 245,000-square-foot facility and a network of 24 ambulatory clinic locations dedicated to helping each child reach their full potential. Part of UR Medicine, upstate NY’s largest and most comprehensive healthcare system, GCH is embedded in a world-class academic healthcare and research center, the University of Rochester Medical Center, and connected to the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Our pediatric programs:
- Are nationally ranked in pediatric nephrology, neonatology and pediatric cancer care by US News & World Report (2023)
- Provide care for 85,000 children annually, including more than 4,000 surgical cases and 1,800 admissions
- Are home to an ACS-verified level 1 pediatric trauma center, the nation’s first PET-MRI machine in a children’s hospital, the only pediatric cardiac surgery program in our region, and the largest pediatric intensive care service in Western NY

About Our Health System
UR Medicine:
- Was selected by the CDC as one of only three sites nationwide to help evaluate new vaccines and set the timetable for future vaccines
- Is ranked in the top 10 institutions in the country for royalty from licensed technologies
- Created the Haemophilus influenza Type B (Hib) vaccine, virtually eliminating a leading cause of meningitis in young children
