Overview

UR Medicine Dermatology offers a full range of dermatology services for adults and children with skin conditions as common as warts and as complicated as skin cancer. Our goal is to provide each patient with the best care possible, whether we are treating acne or a skin condition triggered by organ transplant.

All of our patients are diagnosed and treated by members of an exceptionally qualified team consisting of dermatologists, dermatology residents, nurse practitioners, and others.  When the services of a pathologist are needed, our patients also benefit from our department’s dermatopathologists.

UR Medicine's Approach

UR Medicine Dermatology offers a full range of dermatology services for adults and children with skin conditions as common as warts and as complicated as skin cancer. Our goal is to provide each patient with the best care possible. With three clinic locations, we strive to care for the Dermatologic needs of our community. Our department consists of faculty physicians, researchers, residents, and nurse practitioners.

Our clinical services and research programs strive to build, expand and integrate Dermatologic knowledge and care for our patients, trainees and community.

For prospective students, we offer a Dermatology Residency Program, a Mohs Fellowship, a Dermatology Fellowship and a NP Post-Graduate training program, where our trainees gain essential knowledge, technical expertise, critical reasoning skills and the ability to work as part of a team with ancillary staff.  Upon graduation, our residents are able to practice independently in a variety of settings, take care of patients with all skin colors and are able to pursue interests in research, clinical and administrative practice.

What Sets Us Apart?

The Department of Dermatology was established in July of 1981. Eastman Kodak Company endowed the James H. Sterner Chair in Dermatology at the School of Medicine and Dentistry in honor of the founder of its Laboratory of Industrial Medicine and Medical Director from 1951-1968. The philosophy of the program is that residents and faculty working closely together promote the best possible care of patients with both common and complicated skin diseases, while creating an optimal educational environment.

We are proud to be a part of UR Medicine, one of the nations top academic health systems. Our affiliation affords us access to cutting-edge technology and treatments that enables us to deliver the highest level of care. In addition, our association promotes an all-inclusive approach to patient care and service.
