Resident Life

Our Pathology Residency program is an ACGME-accredited training program for individuals seeking a four-year AP/CP training. Residents receive comprehensive training in autopsy pathology, hematopathology/coagulation, chemical pathology, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, neuropathology, forensic pathology, blood bank/transfusion medicine, apheresis, cytopathology, surgical pathology in a subspecialty environment, dermatopathology and microbiology.

Residents are expected to function as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team in which there is evidence of mutual respect and cooperation among all personnel, empathy, understanding, compassion, integrity and honesty with clinicians and peers while demonstrating a willingness and desire for continuing education and self improvement.

Acknowledging that life is not all work and no play, our social committee plans monthly activities inviting all of our trainees to participate in. We have attended AHL hockey and Triple A baseball games, went apple picking and pumpkin carving on the shores of Lake Ontario with a bonfire blazing, monthly movie & pizza nights, potluck dinners and random happy hours.
