Treatments
Orthopaedic plastic surgery is primary devoted to reconstructive or cosmetic surgery of the hand. Plastic surgeons who perform hand surgery attempt to restore not only the function of the hand, but try to maximize the cosmetic appearance of the hand, as well. Plastic surgery on the hand may be done to rerepair abnormalities caused by birth defects, injury, infection, tumors or disease.
Types of Surgery

Grafting. This procedure transfers of skin, bone, nerves or other tissue from a healthy part of the body.
Flap Surgery. This procedure moves tissue from another part of the body while leaving the underlying structures such as the blood supply attached and intact.
Microsurgery to repair nerves, tendons and blood vessels.
Reconstruction such as:
- Repairs where bone is crushed or missing.
- Syndactyly Reconstruction to separate fused fingers .
- Replantation. Replantation uses microsurgery to replace fingertips, fingers or hands that have been accidentally amputated.
- Scar Revisions and Skin Tightening. We can improve the look of scars and aging skin.
