General Pediatric Fellows at the 2010 PAS Meeting

The University of Rochester's General Pediatric Fellowship Program has received the Academic Pediatric Association's National Teaching Award, its most prestigious educational award. The Division has supplied a large proportion of the nation's leaders in general pediatrics. These faculty interact with, guide and inspire our trainees. Our fellows have the option to obtain specialized training in hospital medicine, child abuse or health services research. Our graduates will be prepared to assume academic, policy making, or community leadership careers in which they:

  • Conduct research directed to primary medical care issues as independent, extramurally funded investigators;
  • Teach future primary care pediatricians to recognize and address the multifaceted issues that affect children’s health, and/or
  • Participate actively in clinical care, program innovation, policy development and advocacy that addresses the needs of undeserved and minority children and families.
