Bereavement Support
Dear Newly Bereaved Parent,
My name is Liz Conrow and I am the Bereavement Coordinator at Golisano Children’s Hospital.
As a bereaved parent, I understand grief in a deeply personal way. In 2015 I lost my daughter Amanda to cancer. She had just turned six. After Amanda died, I was alone and broken. I didn’t want to find joy. I didn’t want to laugh. I felt like my heart had shattered into a thousand pieces.
If this is how you are feeling right now, you are not alone.
Throughout the coming months I will be reaching out to you in a variety of ways. You can expect to receive:
- Birthday and Anniversary Cards
- Seasonal Mailings
- Periodic Phone Calls
- Resources and Support
I am also available to meet with you one on one or connect you with another parent to journey with you through grief.
During this difficult time, remember that everyone grieves differently. You are doing incredibly hard work simply surviving the loss of your precious child.
On behalf of Golisano Children’s Hospital, I hope you feel supported and cared for in the days and weeks ahead.
I am deeply sorry for your loss.
With care,
~ Liz Conrow
