Preparing for Your Telelactation Appointment
To make the most of your virtual lactation visit:
- Have your baby with you if you would like help with latching or feeding.
- Keep breast pump and supplies nearby if you have concerns about pumping or milk supply.
- Have pumped milk or formula available if your baby uses it.
- If you have a skin or nipple concern, it can be helpful to take a picture on your phone for your provider to review.
Our Approach
Every family is valued and respected in their individuality. Every staff member has committed to providing evidence-based and respectful care to our LGBTQI+ patients.
Breastfeeding can feel private and is sometimes uncomfortable to do in front of others. We welcome you to bring a support person into your virtual appointment.
Patients with larger bodies can feel uncomfortable in healthcare environments because of bias and over emphasis on weight loss. Our staff is trained and welcoming to patients of all body types.
