Managing Diabetes: "Free" Foods
"Free" foods are those that provide only 5 grams of carbohydrates, or 20 calories or less per serving. You are allowed up to three servings of "free" foods each day, but not all at the same time.

| Dill pickle | 1 1/2 large |
| Ham or turkey "roll-up" | 1 slice |
| Jello - sugar free | no limit |
| Popcorn | 1 cup |
| Soda - sugar free | no limit |
| Vegetables - raw or salad | 1 cup |
Please call the office if your child/teen seems to need more than three servings of free foods each day or wants larger servings. The meal plan may need to be adjusted.
