UR Medicine Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Liver Disease program provides exceptional care for children in our region with serious liver conditions and before and after transplant surgery. It is the only program of its kind in the Upstate NY area. Children will receive the level of care they need right here, close to their families and support systems.

Our Team

Our multidisciplinary team is committed to your child every step of the way. Our Pediatric Liver Disease team shares expertise and support with the faculty and staff of the adult Liver Transplant program and Pediatric Gastroenterology.

In addition, our team team has access to multiple pediatric subspecialties, services and programs dedicated to the care and comfort of pediatric patients and their families.

  • Pediatric subspecialties: pediatric infectious diseases, psychology, surgery, PICU, NICU, pediatric nephrology, cardiology, oncology and pulmonology
  • A dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department
  • A Ronald McDonald house for families of children who require an extended hospital stay.
  • Pediatric Transport Program: We have a transport team available to pick up and transport children who are sick to our PICU.
  • Wegmans Child Life Program: Child Life specialists at Golisano Children's Hospital are trained and certified to care for the emotional and developmental needs of children and families.
