2nd Annual Warrior Walk Honors Cancer Survivors

UR Medicine’s Wilmot Cancer Center is sponsoring its second Warrior Walk in celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 1, on the University of Rochester’s River Campus.
Warrior Walkers can choose between a 13.1-mile walk beginning at 8 am; 13.1-mile run beginning at 10:30 am; 6.6-mile walk beginning at 10:30 am; or a 1-mile walk beginning at noon.
Participants can register online until May 31 at 10 am, or June 1 on-site, 30 minutes prior to the start of each walk or run. Cost is $25, which is waived with $100 in pledges. For more information please visit: http://teamraiser.rochester.edu/site/TR?fr_id=1050&pg=entry
Following the event, Wilmot will offer live music, refreshments from local vendors, children’s activities, and cancer survivorship education on the UR’s Wilson Quad.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Judy DiMarzo Clinical Cancer Survivorship Program at the Wilmot Cancer Center. Last year’s Warrior Walk raised more than $40,000. The DiMarzo program is unique in the Rochester region, offering patients a nurse navigator and other resources to stay healthy during the recovery process.
Wilmot is the leading regional cancer care resource, providing diagnosis and multidisciplinary care for adults and children at the University of Rochester Medical Center campus and at several satellite clinics, from Greece to Dansville.
