Atheletes, Disco Fans Can Support Wilmot Cancer Center
A variety of events are on the calendar to support research and patient care programs at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Friday, April 3 -- 2nd annual Girls Hit the Ring to Knockout Breast Cancer
This action-packed evening begins at 7 p.m. at Oak Hill Country Club and supports breast cancer research with. The event includes professional and amateur men and women boxers and features Rochester’s own Ela Nunez, Featherlight World Title Champion in a sparring exhibition. Saturday, April 4 -- 2nd annual Meaghan’s Run
Runners and walkers will raise funds for local lung cancer research during the sanctioned 5K race. The event commemorates the life of Meaghan Latone, who sadly died of non-smokers lung cancer in August 2008. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at Victor High School. Saturday, April 4 -- Ugly Disco
Relive the ’70s fashions and music from the decade of eight-tracks, lava lamps, leisure suits, polyester, and mood rings.
