Boats N Goats Event Brings More than Summer Fun

Do you love boating? The second annual Boats N Goats boating event is calling all boaters to enjoy a day on the sunny shores of Irondequoit Bay. This year’s event will also serve as a fundraiser, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
The event has proven itself to be a success, attracting more than 1,000 people in its first year. Based on the popularity of last year’s event, organizer Jason Gould decided to turn the event into a fundraiser to benefit the children’s hospital, which serves the Rochester-area community.
“I really wanted to do this from the very beginning but I needed to make sure it would be successful first,” Gould said. “It just feels right to give back to the community this time around.”
The Boats N Goats event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 7, on Irondequoit Bay. The event includes live music from the comedic/rock performer JP Shaggy and music from DJ Slick Rick. Donations of $15 will be accepted ahead of time, or event-goers can pay $20 per person at the event. With each donation, attendees will receive a Boats N Goats beverage koozi, a Hawaiian lei, food provided by local restaurants, and entry into a raffle to win a night on the town with 10 friends from S&S Limo.
