Cardiac Specialist Returns to Wellsville Cardiology

The University of Rochester Medical Centerâs Wellsville Cardiology practice is pleased to announce the return of Imran Nazir Chaudhary, M.D., FACC, to its 84B N. Main St. office in Wellsville.Chaudhary, assistant professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center,served the Wellsville area for more than five years, first as an internist and then as a cardiologist. Over the last year he completed further training at URMC in the subspecialty of interventional cardiology. He will resume seeing patients in Wellsville in August.Chaudhary is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and nuclear cardiology.
He earned his undergraduate degree in 1988 from D.J. Sindh Government Science College, Pakistan, and his medical degree in 1993 from Aga Khan University Medical College, Pakistan.He was in private practice in Pakistan for two years before coming to the United States to do post-graduate training. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine from 1995 to 1998 at Yale University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in cardiology from 1998 to 2001 at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He became a member of the URMC faculty in July 2001.
Wellsville Cardiology offers a wide range of cardiac services, including consultations, stress testing and echocardiography in the treatment of coronary artery disease, heart failure, refractory high blood pressure and peripheral vascular disease, including carotid artery disease and pulmonary hypertension.The Wellsville cardiologists work closely with Jones Memorial Hospital to treat patients locally when possible. For patients requiring services that are not available at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville Cardiology will help streamline transfer and admission to the University of Rochester Medical Center.
