When you step into the Dado Boutique on Monroe Ave. in Pittsford, you aren’t just a shopper to owner Dalida Atallah, you are a client. Known in Rochester for her fashion prowess, Atallah creates relationships with her clients that last season over season, producing an unmatched community of fashionistas that love and support the boutique. But Atallah doesn’t just provide the community with the latest fashions that you can’t find in any other store in Rochester.
On Friday, October 25, more than 600 fashion seekers will pack BayTowne Plaza in Webster for the Dado Boutique’s semi-annual Fall Fashion Show, a much-anticipated event that benefits the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Since its inception in 2007, Atallah has raised more than $156,000 through seven fashion show for the Wilmot Cancer Center, with this event’s proceeds specifically earmarked for seed grant funding for breast cancer research.
Atallah chose to support the Wilmot Cancer Center because of the care and support her mother receives in her five year battle with cancer. “One of the most difficult challenges any of us may face is to find out that you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer,” said Atallah. “I came to realize how fortunate we are to have this incredible resource in our community as my mother was treated at the Cancer Center. I felt so appreciative for her care, I wanted to give back.”
The event begins at 6 p.m. and will feature two performances from the Rochester City Ballet. Runway models, many of which are the boutique’s clients, will be outfitted in metropolitan and bohemian-inspired apparel and accessories. Mann’s Jewelers will be outfitting the models with jewelry, while the Spa at the Del Monte will be providing the latest trends in hair and makeup.
Tickets for the event, sponsored by the DiMarco Group, are available for purchase at Dado Boutique, Mann’s Jewelers and the Spa at the Del Monte. For more information, contact the Dado Boutique at (585) 271-7890.
