Eastman Institute for Oral Health Chair Elected to National Post

Carlo Ercoli, D.D.S., associate professor, chair and program director for Eastman Institute for Oral Health’s Prosthodontic Division at the University of Rochester Medical Center, has been named the 77th president of the American Prosthodontic Society, founded in 1928. The Society works to advance prosthetic dentistry and improve patient treatment by integrating the skills and expertise of the generalist, specialist and dental lab technologist through education and research.

 Ercoli, of Greece, NY, has served as chair of several Society committees, vice president and president-elect. In addition to promoting research,education and fellowship among its 450 members worldwide, Ercoli’s goal is to establish affiliations with other oral health international organizations.

 Ercoli is widely published and serves on the Editorial Council for The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. He is active in several local and national dental organizations, and frequently lectures on prosthodontics dentistry. He will preside over the organization’s 2011 Annual Meeting on February 24-25 in Chicago, IL.

After earning his dental degree in Siena, Italy, Ercoli completed residencies in Prosthodontics, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, Advanced Education in General Dentistry.

Eastman Institute for Oral Health is a world leader in research and post-doctoral education in general and pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Patients are seen at many sites throughout the Rochester community.
