Eleven golf tournaments to support cancer research, care at Wilmot Cancer Institute

May. 26, 2016
Few life events demonstrate the need for cancer research more than personally watching a friend or family member go through it. For those impacted by cancer of a loved one, hosting a community fundraiser is one way to react that could make a difference for those facing a similar situation in the future. This year, 11 community-hosted golf tournaments taking place in the Rochester, Finger Lakes and Western New York regions will support various areas of UR Medicine’s Wilmot Cancer Institute.

“These events are so important to the work we do at Wilmot. They inspire us to keep making advances in cancer research and care every day. It’s incredible to see family and friends come together to celebrate their contribution to the fight against this disease,” says Tiffany Paine-Cirrincione, associate director, advancement and community events at Wilmot Cancer Institute.
