Fairport Music and Food Festival Will End Summer on High Note

The Fairport Music and Food Festival, one of the most anticipated festivals in the area, will be from noon to dark, Saturday, Aug. 27, on Liftbridge Lane in Fairport. Packed with live bands on three stages, delicious local food, activities for kids and even more end-of-summer fun, this event is sure to end the season on a high note.
This will be the seventh year the festival has rocked Liftbridge Lane. Over the years, the event has raised already $300,000 for Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center, earning the co-organizers Rob Burch and Andy McDermott a Miracle Maker award in 2009.
“The children’s hospital benefits Western New York,” said McDermott. “It’s important to help when the hospital means so much to the community.”
Some local favorites will be returning to the stage, including The Campbell Brothers, Brass Taxi and Wild Horses. There will also be a line-up of new bands like Big Eyed Phish, The Deep Blue Dream, Ryan Montbleau Band and Attitude Joe. Local restaurants will be cooking up some of their signature dishes, and there will be plenty of fun activities for kids.
All proceeds benefit Golisano Children’s Hospital. Tickets are $10 before the festival and $15 at the door. Kids 12 and under are free.
