Gala Wine Tasting to Benefit Volunteer Services at URMC
Celebrated Local Event Turns 19 This Year
Guests will sample more than 300 red and white domestic and imported wines and champagnes from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, when the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Friends of Strong holds its 19th annual Gala Wine Tasting at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom.
The festive occasion will also include a delicious selection of finger foods to complement the wines: cheeses, breads, warm hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Live jazz by the Matt Valerio trio will enhance the informal, relaxed mood and a silent auction and raffle of donated items will conclude the evening.
Friends of Strong Director Louise Criticos said, “Our mission to enhance patient care depends on the services of more than 1300 dedicated volunteers at the Medical Center. We could not do the work we do without the help of fundraisers like the Gala Wine Tasting. We are fortunate that it has become such a popular event, and we urge everyone to come out and have a good time for a very good cause.”
Tickets to the Gala Wine Tasting are $50 per person or $45 per person for parties of four or more. Space is limited so please reserve your places before Feb. 8. For a relaxing and worry-free end to the evening, Friends of Strong has negotiated a special rate for guests wishing to stay overnight at the Hyatt Regency. Please note guests must be at least 21 years of age to attend the event.
