Geneva Ophthalmologist Joins University of Rochester’s Flaum Eye Institute
Geneva ophthalmologist Harold Ross, M.D., has joined the University of Rochester Medical Center’s Flaum Eye Institute, expanding the specialty medical and surgical care available to Finger Lakes region residents. Additional pediatric ophthalmology and glaucoma care are among the services that will be provided.
“I am pleased to be a part of the Flaum Eye Institute and welcome the resources of this top-notch organization to Geneva,” Ross said. “Flaum is a tremendous asset to Upstate New York because it provides advanced diagnostics and the latest therapies for common and difficult vision problems. Our patients with challenging diseases or injuries have access to specialists from a world-class eye hospital close to home.”
Flaum Eye Institute ophthalmologists have been working with Ross for more than two years. Patients will see expansion at the 738 Pre Emption Road offices, to provide additional space for specialty services. Surgeries will be offered at Geneva General Hospital and Finger Lakes Surgery Center. Mason Street Optical will continue offering prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses.
“The field of ophthalmology is changing rapidly because of scientific and clinical advances. Today we are able to prevent and treat diseases that were once considered untreatable,” said Steven E. Feldon, M.D., M.B.A., director of the Flaum Eye Institute and chair of Ophthalmology at URMC. “We are delighted to become part of this thriving community and look forward to supporting Dr. Ross and his staff. Our goal is to retain the intimacy of the current practice while expanding services to patients in the Finger Lakes.”
